The Ministry for Gozo is scheduled to commence works on the second phase of the Marsalforn Road project on the 23rd of October 2025, as per approved permit PA 00300/19 – Proposed junction improvement and road widening to existing road and construction of schemed road. Site at, Triq il-Kapuccini, Triq ir-Rabat, Triq Patri Ġiaċintu Camenzuli, Triq Ġorġ Pisani, Triq ta’ Viani, Rabat, Xagħra, Triq Marsalforn, Żebbug (Gozo).

During phase two, the following trees will be transplanted and maintained under the care of Dawwara Nursery, Ġnien Ċensu Sciberras, Kerċem, Gozo in accordance with the ERA nature permit EP 01110/23 – Rabat to Marsalforn Road Link:

Following discussions with Din l-Art Helwa, plans for the project were revised in order to reduce the number of felled trees whilst increasing the number of proposed trees to be incorporated in the project.
